Day 1: Arrival in Lusaka:
• Upon landing at Lusaka’s Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, you’ll be met and assisted by our airport representatives for a smooth and friendly welcome, they’ll ensure a seamless connection to your next flight.
• Flight to Mfuwe: Embark on a scheduled flight from Lusaka to Mfuwe, your gateway to South Luangwa National Park.
• Arrival at Kafunta Safari Lodge: On arrival in Mfuwe, you’ll transfer to Kafunta Safari Lodge. Nestled along the banks of the Luangwa River, Kafunta provides a classic safari experience with incredible wildlife sightings right from your room or the main lodge area. After settling in, you can relax and savour a refreshing welcome drink.
• Afternoon Safari Drive: After a brief orientation and lunch, set out on your first game drive in South Luangwa, renowned for its wildlife-rich ecosystem. Guided by expert trackers, you’ll explore diverse habitats and have a chance to spot elephants, hippos, and a variety of birdlife, with a beautiful sunset to end your first day in the park.
• Evening at the Lodge: Enjoy a three-course dinner at Kafunta's open-air dining area, exchanging stories with fellow travellers and resting up for an adventurous day ahead.

Day 2: Full Day Safari Adventures at Kafunta
• Morning Game Drive: Rise with the sun to catch the wildlife at its most active. Today’s drive might bring you face-to-face with predators like lions or leopards, and you’ll likely encounter large herds of buffalo, zebras, and giraffes grazing peacefully.
• Relax & Recharge at the Lodge: Return to Kafunta for a hearty brunch, followed by leisure time to relax in the pool or the lodge’s natural hot spring—a perfect retreat for winding down.
• Evening Game Drive: Set out in the late afternoon for another game drive, ending with a classic Zambian sundowner. Enjoy breath-taking views of the Luangwa River and snap some golden-hour photos as you sip a cold drink. As night falls, watch for nocturnal species like hyenas, owls, and even elusive leopards under the starry sky.
Overnight: Kafunta River Lodge

Day 3: Transfer to Three Rivers Camp
• Morning Safari Walk or Game Drive: Enjoy an early walking safari for an intimate experience with nature, learning about the smaller creatures and plant life of the African bush with your guide. Alternatively, take a final game drive at Kafunta to capture any wildlife you may have missed.
• Transfer to Three Rivers Camp: After brunch, embark on a scenic road transfer to Three Rivers Camp. Located on the confluence of the Luangwa and Lusangazi Rivers, Three Rivers is known for its secluded, riverside setting, allowing an immersive wildlife experience.
• Settle into Three Rivers Camp: Arriving mid-afternoon, you’ll be greeted by friendly staff and shown to your tented room, complete with an outdoor bed for under-the-stars sleeping. Enjoy some downtime or an optional guided bush walk to get acquainted with your new surroundings.
• Dinner & Night Safari: Relish a fireside dinner before heading out on a thrilling night safari. The evening drive offers unique opportunities to see nocturnal wildlife such as porcupines, civets, and leopards on the prowl.

Day 4: Exploring Three Rivers Camp - Safari by Foot & Vehicle

• Leisure & Lunch: Return to camp for a filling lunch, and rest with some time at the lodge, enjoying views of elephants or hippos by the riverbank.
• Afternoon Game Drive: Head out for an afternoon drive to explore further afield. At dusk, your guide will find the perfect spot for a sundowner, before an exhilarating night-time search for predators and other nocturnal species.

Day 5: Final Day at Three Rivers
• Full Safari Day: Customize your final day with your choice of walking safari or game drives. Three Rivers’ unique landscape offers pristine vantage points for wildlife, so each excursion promises a new surprise.
• Sunset & Special Farewell Dinner: Celebrate your time in South Luangwa with a farewell dinner back at camp, enjoying a quiet, peaceful ambiance and perhaps one last look at the wildlife wandering close by.

Day 6: Departure from South Luangwa & Return to Lusaka

• Road Transfer to Mfuwe Airport: A scenic drive will take you back to Mfuwe Airport, where you’ll board a scheduled flight to Lusaka.
